How can Shopify stores upload products in batches using CSV?

Uploading products one by one is troublesome and time-consuming, so it can save us a lot of time if we can upload products directly in batch . Next, let\’s see how to operate?

\"\"

First, we go to the background of Shopify and choose to download a sample CSV document in product – > import.

Or if we don\’t think the sample documents are well understood, we can upload several products first and then export them, so that we can have a reference.

Find product – > export, select all products or some products, select CSV for Excel, numbers, or other spreadsheet programs, and click export itemsj.

The function of CSV file is not only used to upload products in batches, but also used in the following cases:

1.Export the data of Shopify website a and upload it to Shopify website B.

2.Upload and download customer information of the website

3.If the network speed is not good, using table operation can save a lot of time.

Below we can see a prompt \”you can also use the bulk editor to edit your products\”

Click the blue anchor text, and we can select multiple modules to modify in batch. Including price, URL, SKU, product title, etc. this function is also more convenient.

The export step is very simple. The real trouble is to fill in. If it is not filled in correctly, an error will be reported when re importing, and the data cannot be imported back into the system. So next, let\’s explain the meaning of each column in the table.

Handle

Let\’s first look at the first handle. What is displayed here is the suffix of the URL of the SEO part of our product, which can be lowercase letters and numbers, connected by a dash in \”–\”, and there can be no space in the middle.

In the batch upload form, the handle of each product is unique and cannot be the same. If you want to add multiple pictures for a product, you need to copy the corresponding handle for each line of picture address added. Different content of handle indicates different products.

Title

Title is the name of our product. For different products, the title can be the same, but the handle of the product is different. Different attributes of the product can be marked in the URL.

Body (HTML)

It refers to the description part of the product, which can be filled in plain text directly, but it is recommended to write it in HTML language, so that the typesetting can be completed directly with code, and there is no need to adjust the typesetting later.

It doesn\’t matter if you don\’t understand the HTML code. I wonder if you have noticed that there is a small symbol like parentheses in our Shopify background description. After writing the text here, click Show HTML to show the HTML code.

Just copy these codes directly into our CSV table

Vendor&Type&Tags

These three correspond to the data on the right side of our Shopify background.

Vendor is the name of our product supplier. If it is not modified, the default is the store name. For example, my shop is fashion. Just fill in this in each line.

Product type (optional). For example, if my product is a cup, my product type can be written as cup or glass

Tags (optional) product labels, such as couple cup, ceramic, glass. This is written according to the label of its own product.
